Bayi Bayi” mastermind Peruzzi has apologized to Pamilerin Adegoke, a Twitter influencer he alleged slapped over the week. Davido, who runs DMW (Davido Music Worldwide), the label to which Peruzzi is signed, has apologized as well.

Pamilerin Adegoke was said to have been assaulted based on the tweets he made in January this year, describing Peruzzi as no match for “Sugar Mummy” crooner Teni. Specifically, Pamilerin was said to have posted back then: “Peruzzi trying to compare himself to Teni. Uncle, calm down…wait till Teni wins next rated at the Headies.”

Peruzzi had apparently taken umbrage at the post then, although he may not have verbalized it. He would wait for the best opportunity to exact a pound of slap. And an opportunity presented itself over the weekend

Eyewitness accounts state that Peruzzi got his bodyguards to hold Pamilerin Adegoke down while he dealt him some vicious slaps on the cheek. The victim himself would share pictures showing the resultant weal from the slap.

The pictures got Nigerian Twitter talking, and for a time both Peruzzi and Pamilerin trended on Nigerian Twitter. Some peeps rebuked Peruzzi, accusing him of having taken uncouth liberties. He came up with an apologetic tweet soon after.

His tweet reads: “I did very wrong for yesterday slapping Mr. Pamilerin. (I) let my feelings get the (better) of me and I’m very sorry. Apologies to Mr Pamilerin and also to the general public. I’d never get into such mess again. Love only, I promise.

Taking to Twitter, Davido was equally apologetic while not-so-subtly defending Peruzi. His tweet reads: “I apologize to you @thepamilerin on behalf of my brother and artist @Peruzzi_VIBES. He was wrong for putting his hands on you but people need to realize that we artists are human beings and we see everything! You said some harsh words to my brother and sometimes this thing dey pain!
