Starboy Wizkid has pulled off a musical coup after all. It is not in doubt that his recently released “Fever” video was meant to excite, to provoke and stoke up publicity for the “Master Groove” mastermind and his brand.
And he has apparently succeeded in doing so, as the video has hit over 1 million YouTube views in just 2o hours of release.
Wizkid Source, which shares unique content about the rapper, took Instagram page to announce the milestone. “WE’VE DONE IT!!! 💚🥦💚🥦💚 #FEVER has hit 1 million views in 20 hours! It ties “Come Closer” as the fastest music video by a Nigerian artist to hit 1 million views! #WhenYourOnlyCompetitionIsYourself! 🚀🚀🚀🚀.”
Hitting over 1 million views in under 20 hours is indeed a record for a Nigerian artiste. If Wizkid was thought the hottest rapper in Africa about a month back, this new milestone will certainly add to his fire and appeal.
When Starboy started his career in the church singing group he founded, called The Glorious Five, not many thought we would end up appending his to a great chunk of Africa’s music success. But, here is the Ciro ambassador, years later, winning and wooing.
Indeed, hard work and talent can take one somewhere. Some solidarity.
