Olamide Threatens To Expose Record Labels Practising 21st Century Slavery

Olamide Threatens Record Labels Practicing 21st Century Slavery

YBNL general Olamide Adedeji, popularly known as Baddo has spoken out about some injustice going on in the music industry. Specifically, the “Motigbana” crooner referred to some shady deals carried out by some record labels.

The serial hitmaker and YBNL honcho took to his Instastory to address what he called 21st century slavery being practiced by some record labels.

He took pains to emphasise that while some young entrepreneurs on the scene are making it easier for other artistes to shine and benefit, some other labels are using artistes’ creativity against them, bringing to mind Lil Wayne’s words during his fall out with Birdman: “I’m a prisoner and so is my creativity”.

While Olamide didn’t name any record label yet, he promised to do so once he finds a “scape goat”, but still urged the culprits to do right by artistes and let “everyone eat proper”.
Olamide who himself is the CEO of his own record label YBNL has helped other artistes find exposure and fame, such as Lil Kesh, who has gone on to establish his own imprint YAGI, as well as Adekunle Gold who is also the boss of the band The 79th Element.

Olamide’s frustrations have since been shared by another heavyweight in the industry Samklef, who added that some labels merely sign artistes just to “milk investors”.

This has since got people speculating which labels Olamide is referring to and if he really is on to something. What do you think? Let us know in the comment section below.
