Peter Okoye known as Mr. P of the now defunct, PSquare music group has nailed a new award, making him the first to win one since he split with his twin after that messy breakup.
The award was from the International Achievement Recognition Awards and Mr. P won in the Best International Male Artist category and he was clearly excited about this win as he took to Instagram to share the news. The win no doubt takes the pressure off him and validates his solo effort.
He made two posts about this. The first post went: “Team P this one is for Us! Thanks for the love and support. This is just the beginning 🙏🏽😊… I MAY NOT BE THERE YET, BUT I’M CLOSER THAN I WAS YESTERDAY. Thank you so much🙏🏽 @iara_awards @pclassicgroup#SlowButSteady #AlwaysBelieveInYourSelf#Freedom#NeverBeAfraidToStartOverAgain#GodWorksInAmazingWays Mr P is here.”
The second post showed just how excited he was as it was longer and read: “Yes Guys we did it! We won!!! My very first award as a solo act! You guys made this happen. INTERNATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT RECOGNITION AWARDS 🏆🥇 Slow and Steady but surely! God is great🤗😇🙏🏽 To @iara_awards my profound thanks, I was hoping to be in London but as you’re aware, I’m in the middle of my US/Canadian Tour at the moment! I will be by to pick up my award personally.
Thanks again and I’d like to dedicate this award to my super fans and my awesome son Cameron who’s birthday is today. Double celebration for sure🤗🥂 More coming……. Win win win no matter what💯🤗😊🙏🏽🕺🏽 Never give up,Be inspired.”
Mr. P first came into prominence as one of the dynamic duo of the famous group, PSquare, while his twin brother Paul made the other half of the group.
They had numerous hit singles like “E no easy”, “Chop my money”, “Ejeajo”, “Personally”, and had collaborations with Rick Ross, May D and others. They also won several awards. Suffice it to say, they were our beloved two in one package.
We say congrats to Mr. P and long may this continue.
