The credit for taking Nigerian music to the world must to the likes of Tiwa Savage, Davido, Olamide, Don Jazzy, Wizkid, Waje and so many of them. Their creativity and talent has benefited our nation’s image and put the spring in the steps of so many aspiring young talents.”
The statement can also be seen as a way to appease the Nigerian youths following the statement made by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Commonwealth Business Forum in Westminster, London, after making a statement on Wednesday, 18th April 2018, where he tagged the youth as being lazy, banking on the belief that Nigeria is an oil-rich nation and that they rely on the government to do everything.
The statement went viral and many Nigerians especially the youths had a lot of things to say to the president. Angry Nigerians upon hearing the statement fired hot shots at him saying the president had no right insulting the youths, who struggle under very hard circumstances to make end meet.
