Brymo to Drop 6th Studio Album “OṢÓ” this March

Critically-acclaimed Nigerian singer, songwriter and composer Brymo is right on the verge of commissioning his sixth studio album which is scheduled for release in a couple of weeks, and the anticipation is off the charts.

31 year old Brymo (whose real name is Olawale Ashimi although he prefers to be called Olawale Olofo’ro) released his debut studio album “Brymstone” way back in 2007 which was succeeded by his sophomore album, “TheSonOfaKapenta” (supported by the singles “Ara” and “Good Morning”) 5 years later in 2012.

Preceded by two singles, “Down” and “Eko”, Brymo critically-acclaimed third studio album “Merchants, Dealers & Slaves” was released the following year, 2013, and was followed by “Tabula Rasa”, the singer’s fourth studio album, released in 2014.

Brymo’s much talked about 11 track fifth studio album “Klĭtôrĭs” was commissioned in 2016, preceded by the lead single “Happy Memories”, and now – after a brief hiatus of sorts – the music maker has announced that his sixth album “OṢÓ” will be released on the 27th of March and is already available for pre-order.

OṢÓ Album Art

In the words on the project’s site, “OṢÓ” (which loosely translates from Yoruba to English as “Wizard”) “depicts Brymo’s propensity to evolve his art. Brymo brought class, growth and maturity to the table with this body of work.

“Dedicated to keeping his art sacred, Brymo has blessed listeners with his strongest work till date – an atmospheric, introspective set that’s built on masterful songwriting, philosophy and rhythm.

“From the rhythmic “No Be Me”, the reflective “God is In Your Mind” inspired by the work of a Ghanaian fine artist; where Brymo brought his vocal prowess accompanied by strong guitar-riff by David Ubani, and to the soulful “Bá’núsọ”; OṢÓ is Brymo embracing his destiny as Africa’s leading figure in the arts!”

If there’s one thing we know for sure about the Okokomaiko born father of one, it’s that Brymo – who started recording music as far back as 1999 while still in secondary school – has honed his craft so well that he always exceeds our expectations. “OṢÓ” won’t be any different.
