When the insanely talented “Gallardo” hit-maker, Runtown, dropped his perfect blend of Ghanaian Highlife and R&B goodness, ‘Mad Over You’, in 2016, he threw the entire African music scene into a frenzy.

More then a year later, the multi-chart-topping mega smash hit, which is unarguably 28-year-old Douglas Jack Agu’s most successful and critically acclaimed effort yet, is still breaking all sorts of industry records.

‘Mad Over You’ debuted at number 38 on the Billboard Twitter Top Tracks chart, Runtown’s first ever appearance on the US-based chart, and had garnered over 2 million streams on the streaming media service, Spotify, by March last year.

The song, which has been covered by hundreds of artistes – most notably by industry favourites such as Yemi Sax, Mr. Eazi, and by Nasty C on Coke Studio Africa last season – was performed by Runtown to the audience’s delight at last year’s Big Brother Naija finale.

This time, the phenomenal love-themed ballad, primarily produced by Del B, but with production assistance from T-Spize and Runtown himself as well, is making headlines because its brilliant video, which was shot by none other than Nigeria’s most celebrated video director, Clarence Peters, has been viewed more than 60 million times on YouTube. If that isn’t impressive, we don’t know what is.

The self-proclaimed Soundgod, apparently couldn’t contain his excitement as he took to Instagram announce the latest achievement of the song that has practically taken him all around the world.

The singer had this to say:

“Congrats #TeamSoundgod MAD OVER YOU 60 million views. Shoutout my brother @iamdelb for that life changing beat”
