Olamide Dismisses Doubts Concerning OLIC4, Expresses Confidence in Fans

If you’re a ‘Baddo’ fan, odds are that, while regular Nigerians only look forward to the forthcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations, you have another very important date on your mind and in your plans – Sunday, December 17th. That’s when the 4th Olamide Live in Concert is slated for.

Unlike the three previous editions of the widely-acclaimed concert, which have all held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, this Sunday’s OLIC4 is scheduled to take place, for the first time ever, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere between 12 noon and 6 P.M. Yes, Olamide Live in Concert is coming to the Mainland!

Even though OLIC 1, 2 and 3 attracted remarkably large audiences, OLIC4 needs an attendance of a whopping 25,000 people to fill up the stadium, and that might seem like a pretty tall order.

As part of the final round of preparations for OLIC 4, a press conference for the event was held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Tuesday, December 12. Amidst a flurry a questions from numerous reporters who were present, the YBNL founder was asked if he thought OLIC4 would record as much success in terms of attendance as it’s predecessors, especially considering expectations for him to fill up the 24,325-capacity stadium.

Responding to the question, the multi-award-winning rap maestro expressed confidence in the bond he shares with his loyal fans who he was certain wouldn’t let him down.

“Abinibi no be ability… My relationship with my people is genuine, and people that identify with what is real will come out on that day.

“Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I’m just living my dreams,” Olamide said.

Later on, the Wo hit-maker expressed his heartfelt appreciation to his faithful fans for their support, and spoke further about his intended plans for OLIC4, stating that he would continue experimenting with different sounds.

Speaking further about the decision to change the venue for OLIC4, Olamide’s manager, Alexander Okeke, said that the change in venue was necessary to accommodate the superstar’s throng of fans who wished to attend the annual concert, as the first three editions of the show were sold out.

“We want to take the concert to another level. What we want to do is to use OLIC to take Lagos to the world.

“Taking Lagos to the world means that, at the end of the concert, many all over the world will want to come for the next edition, and that’s tourism.”

Okeke further stressed that Lagos was the most spirited city on the continent, and that OLIC4 would therefore not fall short of its anticipated attendance.

Olamide Adedeji is definitely ready to round up his 2017 in stellar fashion with OLIC4. The rapper has had a fantastic year, especially with the release of his highly-anticipated 7th album, Lagos Nawa barely a month ago. The 17-track masterpiece features undeniable hits and collaborations with industry heavyweights such as usual collaborator – Phyno, Tiwa Savage, Timaya and Reminisce; many of who will be performing at OLIC4.

One can only imagine the massive success that OLIC4 will turn out to be, as it has been confirmed by the Lagos state government that there will be a traffic diversion from as early as 6 A.M. for the concert.
