After months of anticipation from fans, award-winning Nigerian urban highlife musician, Adekunle Gold finally debuts his second and sophomore album he titles About 30”.

While it might have taken him two years to create this album, the “Orente” hitmaker definitely set a standard when he released his debut album, Gold in 2016. It’s no surprise therefore when fans and social media were thrown into frenzy following the announcement of “About 30”.

To say that About 30 was one of Nigeria’s highly anticipated album would be an understatement!

Following his exit from former record label, YBNL, Adekunle Gold has gone on to set his own imprint, establish the 79th Element Band and enjoyed successful tours in Europe and America.

With Adekunle Gold being one of those few artists that didn’t venture into pop music that has saturated the music scene, ‘About 30’ makes up a refreshing and solid alternative.

Last week saw the celebrated singer heightening the cliff-hanger suspense by sharing exclusive tidbits with his fans on the 14 track project, where he shared his experiences over the past three decades touching on love, growth, experience and purpose.

“About 30” begins with his already released hit song Ire which is curiously numbered 17 on the album, leading fans to assume the album is a continuation of his debut “Gold” which contains 13 tracks.

Unlike his debut album where he featured himself and Simi, Adekunle Gold takes it a notch higher by collaborating with the likes of DYO, Flavour, Seun Kuti and the Lagos Community Gospel Choir.
