The Journey Of M.I Abaga’s Rendezvous So Far…

Just over two weeks ago, the world was treated to a long awaited surprise! ‘Rendezvous‘. Unlike many failed surprises, this one was received beautifully.

With exactly 22 features not counting the producers, M.I Abaga A.K.A. Mr. Incredible, delivered a body of work upholding the love for hip hop whilst incorporating the oh so loved Afrobeats, some traditional Yoruba feels, the new school Afro sound, and just an overdose of creativity!

In a day, Rendezvous shot to the #1 spot on Apple music and iTunes in Nigeria with at least 10 of the 15 tracks currently sitting on the Top 50 tracks in Nigeria and was featured in the new albums on Tidal‘s world genre section. Currently, the project sits with just about 900k streams across all platforms with ‘Playlist‘ ft. Nonso Amadi leading the pack with over 100k streams and counting.

The ‘album’ which M.I has dubbed a ‘playlist’ is filled with hits all through but a few stand out for the masses. Radio djs and compilers around the world are having a field day with various tracks from the project including Lekki ft. Odunsi, Ajebutter and Falz, ‘Jungle’ ft. Tomi Thomas & Santi, ‘Soup’ ft. Cassper Nyovest, ‘One Way’ ft. Moelogo, ‘On Code’ ft. AKA and Kososhi‘ ft. Wande Coal.
