Wizkid Crowned Best International Act At MOBO Awards; Davido Wins Best African

Wizkid: Best International Act, MOBO Awards 2017

The Jury is out and Wizkid has been crowned the Best International Act at the MOBO Awards 2017. The Starboy faced off stiff competition from titans and heavyweights on the global musical stage including Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Cardi B, Travis Scott, Migos, DJ Khaled, Solange, Drake, and SZA.

With this feat, the “Ojuelegba” hitmaker becomes the first African artist to have won the BET Award and MOBO Award for Best African Act, MTV EMA for Best Worldwide Act and also the Best International award at the MOBO Awards.

DMW Boss, Davido also enjoyed a win on the night; earning the gong for Best African Act. Having recently won two MTV EMAs, O.B.O joins other Nigerian artists, 2Baba and D’Banj as the only Artists to have won the Best African Act awards at the MTV EMAs, BET Awards and MOBO Awards.

The MOBO Awards also witnessed other exciting winners including British Emcee, Stormzy, who scored three awards, J Hus, Craig David, Damian Marley and others.
