Tiwa Savage Cancels South African Performance Over Xenophobia

Former Mavin Records queen, Tiwa Savage has cancelled her performance at the DSTV Delicious Festival scheduled to hold in South Africa on September 21st because of the xenophobic acts happening in the country.

Announcing her decision on Twitter, the artiste who is now with Universal Music Group wrote: “I refuse to watch the barbaric butchering of my people in SA. This is SICK. For this reason I will NOT be performing at the upcoming DSTV delicious Festival in Johannesburg on the 21st of September. My prayers are with all the victims and families affected by this.”

While there have been reports that Rwandan President, Paul Kagame was boycotting the World Economic Forum in protest of the xenophobia too, the organizers have claimed that they are not aware that that is the reason, saying they already got confirmation that he would not be attending on Saturday.
