Nigeria Is A Great Country, God Made Us To Impact The World – NCPC Boss.
The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev.Tor Uja has said that “Nigeria is a great country and God made us to impact the world”. He made this assertion recently in Abuja during the 3rd Conference of Pilgrimage Leaders and Managers of Nigeria held at Ibeto Hotel, Apo district, Abuja
He stated that Nigeria is the country with the greatest Church revival. He stressed that Nigeria is a great country that even though we debate a lot but we do not war. According to him: “wisdom is better than weapons of war”
He commended President Mohammadu Buhari and The Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo for their overwhelming support for Christian Pilgrimage in Nigeria. He equally thanked the state Governors for their support for Christian Pilgrimage over the years.
He stressed that he would ensure that every Nigerian who goes on pilgrimage comes back alive. His words, “every single Nigerian pilgrim is important to us”. He further stated that all those who want to go on pilgrimage should pay the required fee to enable the Commission meet its obligation to the Pilgrims.
The NCPC boss explained that the Church has a role to play in Christian Pilgrimage. He added that the Church in Nigeria has the capacity to take ownership of Christian Pilgrimage.
The NCPC helmsman further stated that the gathering of the Pilgrimage Leaders and Managers of Nigeria was because they believed in the importance of Christian Pilgrimage.
He explained that the essence of their journey to Israel, Greece and Rome for the State of Readiness visit was to inspect and select sites and hotels for the October-December Pilgrimage. He added that the visit would help them to focus on a new dimension for Christian Pilgrimage.
He hinted that from next year, the Commission would build a new template where Nigerian cuisine could be taken along to Israel during Pilgrimage, adding that Nigeria has one of the best foods in the world.
Rev. Tor Uja also stressed that the Commission and the Pilgrimage Leaders and Managers should discourage abandonment in its entirety. He stressed that Nigeria remains the best place to be.
In his remark at the Conference, the Chairmen of the Conference of States who is also the Chairman of the Taraba State Christian Pilgrim Welfare Board, Rev Isaiah Magaji called on all the Chairmen and Secretaries of the States Christian Pilgrim Welfare Boards to be more committed to the promotion and development of Christian Pilgrimage in their various States. He urged them to see their journey for the State of Readiness to Israel, Greece and Rome as a spiritual journey and not mere official trip.
The theme of the 3rd Conference of Christian Leaders and Managers of Nigeria is “Shaping Pilgrimage to Reshape Nigeria”. The Conference was held between12th to 14th July, 2017.
Quite a number of State Chairmen and Secretaries of the States Christian Pilgrim Welfare Boards and all the NCPC Metropolitan and Zonal Coordinators attended the Conference.
Nigeria is a great country, yes! But a whole lot of things have to change for good!
