Wizkid Talks Up His Forthcoming Album

It’s no news that Starboy Entertainment leader, Wizkid is releasing a new album titled “Made in Lagos” soon and he has now opened up about the coming project, his label and his views on the ‘Africa to the World’ phrase that he is popularising.

Sometime last week, Wizkid announced that he had signed the biggest deal in Africa. While he hasn’t yet revealed details of that deal and what it entails, the Afrobeats artiste had words of encouragement to share around after signing that deal.

Earlier this week, he teamed up with ID Cabasa and Olamide on a new song titled “Totori” and it was cool. As a matter of fact, the song wasn’t exactly new as it got leaked a while back, but the trio felt strongly about the song, completed it and added a music video that complemented it perfectly and it has enjoyed a good reception.

Wizkid said that he put a lot of energy into the forthcoming project and that every song has a deeper meaning than is reflected on the surface as well as the music videos.

In his words:

It’s like on this album, I tried as much as possible to put a little bit of myself into it. Even with the way I name the songs… ‘Fever,’ I didn’t even mention ‘Fever’ on the song, but I knew that the feeling that song was gonna give you is fever, like…

“For every song on the album, there’s a deeper meaning. The videos there’s a deeper meaning to them, the album cover… even my live shows…”

We can’t wait for the “Made in Lagos” project to drop. Watch the interview below and share your thoughts about the coming project in the comment section.
