R. Kelly’s Bail Pegged at One Million Dollars
Bail for American rapper R Kelly has been set at one million dollars by John Fitzgerald, the Judge who had also preside at Jussie Smollett’s bail hearing last week.
R Kelly, until his fall from grace one of America’s most loved and celebrated rappers, was said to have abused several women including his ex wife in the course of several years. He turned himself in when a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The conditions for his bail included an injunction not to interact with anyone under the age of 18 and to surrender his international passport.
- Kelly fell from the acme of his career when the documentary “Surviving R Kelly,” in which women levelled allegations of sexual abuse against the hip hop star, began to air around the world. R Kelly had threatened to sue the masterminds of the documentary, but nothing came of the threat eventually.
At some point it was speculated he might flee to Africa. Well, he never did. That notwithstanding, the FBI is said to have started investigating him
The pleasure planes seem to have burned down right in front of R. Kelly. Now difficult times seem to lie ahead. Where friends thronged his space in the past, he now mostly deserted, except perhaps for his lawyers. A hard turn for an artiste.
