It’s not happy times for Fuji King, King Wasiu Ayinde (KWAM 1) following news that his son, Sultan Anifowose has been arrested along with 8 others in the US for fraud of up to $2 million.
His arrest by the US Department of Justice was not an isolated event as it is part of an international investigation into internet fraud, romance scams and other methods used by internet fraudsters known as ‘yahoo boys’ in Nigeria and the US.
A statement from the US Department of Justice said: “Seven Chicago-area residents are among nine individuals arrested in the United States and Nigeria as part of an international investigation into online “romance scams” and “mystery shopper” schemes.”
Naming KWAM 1‘s son’s name, the statement read: “SULTAN OMOGBADEBO ANIFOWOSHE, also known as “Ayinde,” 26, of Chicago” listed alongside other arrested persons, some in Chicago and others in Nigeria where attempts to curb internet fraud has proved largely unsuccessful.
Sultan Anifowose who is 26 years old has been flaunted many a time by the fuji king who is regarded as one of the biggest names in music today and is highly respected by artistes and politicians. There has been no comment from KWAM 1 but we’ll let you know if there’s any other development.
