“Don’t Mess With Me” – Tiwa Savage Hits Back at Yemi Alade

“Don’t Mess With Me” – Tiwa Savage Hit Back at Yemi Alade

It looks like another shitstorm is brewing between Nigerian singers, Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage after the latter dropped a subtle threat for the former, asking her not to mess with her.

How did it start? Well, Tiwa Savage posted a picture on Instagram yesterday with the caption: “Flash Back Friday #ToWhomItMayF&ckingConcern”.

Well, apparently, it facking concerned Yemi Alade who went on Twitter to write: “Stop increasing your ynash in your pictures! You know you are straight like “I” embrace your real self! Ahh Ahh and stop deceiving fans up and dan.”

Reigning holder of the BET Best African Act award, Tiwa Savage was not about to take that, so she took to Insta stories and dropped a subtle-yet-not-so-subtle warning for Yemi Alade that: “Don’t start a war you cannot finish. Trust me I’m not the one. I’m quiet but don’t fuck with ME.”

Then to reinforce that point, she went ahead and added another picture on Instagram with the caption: “Because I’m petty ? I get plenty more but make I no break your screen guard. Let sleeping dogs lie
A word is enough for the wise.”

Yemi Alade has since backed down, saying she didn’t mean to offend anyone and that her jibe was not directed at anyone at all but was a way of advising females to appreciate their bodies.

In her words: “Guys i am not here to defend myself. If my last tweet was offensive in anyway, to my fellow females and guyz i apologise. I am sincerely sorry. I just want us to appreciate ourselves more tin, tall, fat, short. With or without Nyash. WE ARE BEAUTIFUL.❤

This is not the first time the duo of Tiwa Savage and Yemi Alade will have an altercation. Earlier in the year, Yemi Alade had gone on air to say that there was no number one in Africa and that she was on the same level as Davido and Wizkid.

She also said something that rubbed off the wrong way with Tiwa Savage that led to the latter unfollowing her on Instagram but they later resolved it. It remains to be seen if this will be resolved as well or if we are in for a long-term beef.
