Michael Ugwu Reveals Why He Bought Banky W’s Range Rover Sport

 Banky W’s Ranger Rover Sport is no longer on the market. The “Running After U” crooner had put the SUV in an open auction to raise funds for the School for the Blind, as well as for a cancer trust.

The rapper, who runs Empire Mates Entertainment, has finally found a buyer in the person of businessman and investor and one-time CEO of iROKING Michael Ugwu.

Before the auction, the SUV had been the subject of a stalker, who thought a celebrity of Banky W’s stature should be driving a “better” car. Banky W had thereafter rendered what many considered an epic reply to the stalker.

In his reply he had also made it clear he was already in the process of selling the car off. The Ranger Rover, considered a piece of pop culture as it had carried many Nigerian music superstars, has finally found a new home in the garage of another notable name in Nigeria’s pop culture.

Michael Ugwu, general manager at Sony Music Entertainment, West Africa, in a recent chat with The Net, gave reasons when he purchased the SUV for 2.3 million.

“I wanted to purchase a piece of Nigerian music industry history and I also wanted to support charity because I believe in what Banky W stands for and has stood for in our industry,” he said.
