Nigeria’s AfroHouse singer Niniola has just made history as the first female Nigerian musician with a listenership of 1 million on Spotify.

This milestone on Spotify has further solifies the singers hold in the music industry as the most popular female musician in Nigeria, pushing aside the claims that Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage were the most popular.
Niniola, who released her debut album “This Is Me” to critical acclaim in 2017, has by this achievement shown she is one of the most dedicated female musicians in Nigeria, and one with a sense of purpose.
“Maradona,” one of the songs on her album, happens to be among her most popular with over 1.7 million streams on Spotify. The song has even been remade by Grammy-nominated French DJ.
Niniola, whose song “Magun” is doing well in the market, and who has collaborated with other artistes including Kagwe Mungai, DJ Snake,and Heavy K, has got a sterling new addition to her bragging rights.
