Davido on GLAM AFRICA cover

DMW boss and recent BET Award winner (Best International Act, Nigeria) David Adeleke, a.k.a Davido, was on the cover of GLAM AFRICA’s July–September issue themed “African Rising.”

GLAM AFRICA is an international glossy magazine with operational offices in South Africa and the United Kingdom.

It showcases current fashion, lifestyle, and beauty trends, while celebrating the talents and accomplishments of Africans, home and abroad.

The term “Africa Rising” describes rapid economic growth of the continent in over a quarter of a century.

Davido has been making waves in Nigeria’s music industry, churning hit after hit, the most recent being Ofili Gaga.” So it seems fitting he should be selected for a magazine with a worldwide readership of 1.5 million.

For those who think he never had struggles and doubts as a musician because he is Omo Baba Olowo (OBO; son of a rich man), here is what he told his interviewers:

“I left Nigeria for a while in January 2016, and I got signed to Sony around that time. And then I was left thinking, like, I’ve signed this deal…now what? So when I dropped this If thing, it at first didn’t really move. Nothing, in general, moved for me. I wouldn’t say that I was depressed at the time since I was just trying to stay positive, but I was like ‘what is going on.”

The singer is billed to perform at the 02 Arena in London on 27th January, 2019. Before then, he will most likely perform in Namibia, southern Africa.

Stay tuned.
