Popular singer and entertainer Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz The Bahd Guy who released a cover for Childish Gambino’s “This is America” and calls it “This is Nigeria” has revealed, has his cover hit a million views in less than two days of its release, that he didn’t release the song to make any profit on YouTube, but rather to address political issues.

Falz revealed this in an interview with BeatFM’s Toolz where he stated that since the song is a cover of Childish Gambino’s “This is America”, the American artiste who already has over 200Million views for the original version has the right over the “This is Nigeria” cover hence gets to profit from it.

The “Baby Boy” crooner also spoke about some of the negative comments he has been receiving on the issues he raised in the song. He made it very clear that he wasn’t discouraged nor would he be deterred as he will be releasing an EP soon titled “Moral Instruction” to further talk about some of these issues that have been handled with levity in the past

Falz also used the opportunity to implore other artistes to use the great platforms they have to address political issues.

He also mentioned how his father, a lawyer and renowned activist was really glad when he saw the “This is Nigeria” video and so far.
