Davido, Tiwa Savage Nominated for 2018 BET Awards

Nigerian Afro pop king, Davido and Nigeria’s queen of music, Tiwa Savage, have been nominated in the category of ‘International Act’ of the 2018 edition of the prestigious Black Entertainment Television (BET)  Awards.

The award ceremony is scheduled to hold on Sunday, June 25, 2018 at the Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, California, United States.

The list of nominees were made public by the organizers of the awards on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. Davido who was recently crowned Artist of the Year at the recently held Headies Awards 2018 had won the award in 2014 beating Diamond Platnumz, Mafikizolo, Sarkodie, Tiwa Savage and Toofan.

This time around, the “If” hitmaker Davido will battle for the prize against fellow Nigerian –Tiwa Savage, South Africa’s Cassper Nyovest, and Stormzy and J Hus from UK among others.

The DMW boss is a favorite for this year’s edition of the award judging from the massive sales recorded from his “Gold” and “Platinum” certified hit singles – “If” and “Fall”.

Mavin Records first lady and songbird, Tiwa Savage who lost to Davido in 2014, would be hoping to claim this year’s award and her legion of fans would definitely be rooting for Mama Jameel to win.

American record producer and radio personality DJ Khaled tops the overall list, with six nominations for the show.
