Wizkid Surprises Audience at Davido’s Brixton Show

It would seem that Nigerian superstars  Wizkid and Davido – undoubtedly two of Africa’s biggest music exports to the world right now – might have buried the hatchet for good, and might even be on better terms than they seem to make us want to believe.

That’s the only explanation to the surprise appearance which the Starboy boss made at the Brixton leg of Davido’s critically acclaimed 30 Billion UK Tour which held a couple of nights ago at the popular O2 Academy in Brixton.

As usual, Davido gave the massive audience that showed up a show that was well worth their money as he kept them thrilled with his series of smash hits from start till finish.

However, just as the show was at the verge of coming to an end, Davido asked the crowd if they were ready for his final surprise of the night. As expected, everyone screamed in affirmation. After barely a second of considerable silence, Wizkid’s “Manya” began playing and the crowd was agog with excitement.

Still on the song’s intro, Wizkid came on stage wearing a balaclava which Davido dramatically took off to confirm his identity to the audience. It was at this point that everyone went wild, and the duo performed the song together with unprecedented vigor.

This performance makes it the third time in two months that these two mega superstars are performing together and showing their solidarity and support for each other. And what better time than now that they are the the undisputed best in the game?

One can only hope that this new found friendship between the two industry heavyweights only blossoms further and perhaps culminates in a collaboration or two. Now wouldn’t that be epic?
