Reekado Banks in Police Custody for Breach of Contract

It would seem that all is currently not well with Mavin Records superstar, Reekado Banks. According to reports, the ‘Easy Jeje’ hit-maker has been taken into custody by the Nigerian police.

Why? Apparently, the 24 year old singer, whose real name is Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon, was reported to the police for not showing up to perform at a client’s wedding ceremony in Benin City, even after receiving the sum of two million naira to perform.

So what exactly went down? Reekado Banks was reportedly contracted by popular OAP and comedian, Uwa Idahosa, on behalf of the couple who were just about to be married and wanted Reekado to perform at their ceremony.

The couple paid the fees they were asked to through Uwa. However, the wedding ceremony came and went, and the ‘Ole’ singer pulled a no show. The comedian has therefore requested a refund on behalf of the couple.

Reports however have it that Reekado Banks refused to refund the full amount that was paid. Allegedly, his manager and brother, Temioluwa Solomon, said only eight hundred thousand naira could be refunded, as the rest of the money was used in covering logistics.

It is this refusal to grant the newly wedded couple a full refund of their money that has landed Reekado Banks in police custody at the Ogba Area Command, Lagos.

According to reports, Uwa Idahosa and some relatives of the couple have been at the police station demanding their full refund from Reekado Banks and his manager, Temi, who is at the station as well.

If this story is as true as reports have it, one would expect Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, to step in and prevent the situation from deteriorating any further, as this sort of publicity is likely to do much more harm than good to Reekado Banks’ bright music career.
