Lagos State Government Takes Davido & AY To Court Over Tax Evasion

In its bid to clamp down on high profile tax defaulters in Lagos State, tax authorities have now moved against some celebrities in the state who have been alleged to continually dodge legally-required payments from their earnings.

The Punch reported that prominent among these A-listers are Boss, as well as comedian, Ayo Makun popularly known as AY. It was further revealed the Lagos Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) have now charged the duo to court over their alleged tax evasion.

A reliable source within the government agency told the Punch who recently confirmed he made 500 million Naira from his 30 Billion Concert claims to have been making payments to the Osun State government, since he is an indigene of the state.

who has also been fingered as not declaring his income despite his massive earnings was said to have claimed to have been making payments to the Ondo State government as well.

Davido, it was reported was charged to court over tax evasion as far back as July 2017, while ‘s date with the law dates even further back to 2016. The duo risk jail terms if convicted.

In a related news, another celebrity, The Bahd Guy recently shared on social media channel, Instagram, the letter he received from the Lagos Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) on the need to pay his taxes.
