Finally, it looks like the P-Square break up is no stunt as Paul ‘Rudeboy’ Okoye of the famed Okoye brothers unleash his debut single titled “Nkenji Keke.” No matter how painful it feels having Rudeboy perform on a solo grind, you just cannot fault the rave of the record.
This is because “Nkenji Keke” sounds every inch of a trademark P-Square banger; lending further credence to the claims that Paul was responsible for many of the hit songs dished out by the duo when they held sway together on the circuit.
“Nkenji Keke” is a love-inspired ballad and ode to the special lady, cooked and garnished with Eastern flavours. Make no mistakes though; with the banging beats and stunning instrumentals, the record is still a dance tune by all standards.
The other half of the Okoye brothers, Peter, who is now known as Mr.P recently dropped his own debut single in “Cool It Down.” The song enjoyed mixed reviews by pundits, critics and music fans. It is left to be seen the kind of acceptance and headlines “Nkenji Keke” grabs.
While we still hold up hopes of a reunion between the two ‘fast rising and upcoming’ acts, we will be grooving to Rudeboy‘s “Nkenji Keke” in the interim because it holds a feel-good and jolly grind to its offering.
