The Ugandan musician John Blaq has released yet another interesting number. This one is titled “Mbarara Bwoy” and features Mc Kacheche.
“Mbarara Bwoy” is actually a big leap in terms of thematic preoccupation for John Blaq, as the song is mostly autobiographical. For one, Mc Kacheche is from Mbarara, a suburb in Ugandan and the location of a notorious prison in the days of dictator Idi Amin.
He, Mc Kacheche, is also a leading light in Ugandan entertainment and the manager of the singer Latinum, until he was forced to resign by Gifted Music Group (GMG), Latinum’s new management, which had initially taken him in when Latinum moved from Game Park Music to GMG.
He has moved on after the resignation controversy but still maintains touch with the music. So a collaborative single with John Blaq should come as no surprise. By the way, Mc Kacheche is so good as an emcee that many have commented the party will never be complete without him.
John Blaq is also called John Black by many. The alternating use of both names notwithstanding, he remains one of Uganda’s most visible artistes and one you can count on for fine jams any day.
