Baseline music star, Skales teams up with YBNL Boss, Olamide on his recently released tune dubbed “Sarki” that’s grabbing all the headlines.

It’s been quite the year for Skales as he regales us with good music again and again. The “Mukulu” crooner’s third album “Mr Love” was released in July after an exclusive listening party at Hard Rock Café, Lagos.

The very impressive album, “Mr. Love” is a seventeen track album made with the sole intent to spread love across Nigeria. Skales worked with a very talented line of producers including Chopstix and TUC, also featuring artistes like Sarkodie, Tiwa Savage, Phyno, Afro B and more.

Raoul John Njeng-Njeng better known as Skales is a Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter. Skales is an acronym for ‘Seek Knowledge Acquire Large Entrepreneurial Skills’. He started writing rap songs in Kaduna and met producers Jeremiah Gyang and Jesse Jagz while attending the University of Jos.

Skales is well known for  several notable collaborations and hit songs including “Shaking my head”, “Body” featuring Sarkodie, “Pile Up” featuring Cassper Nyovest and “Pressure” featuring Tiwa Savage.


Collaborator, Olamide has been on a chart topping streak this year with the recent release of “Small Girl, Big God” featuring DJ Jimmy Jatt, “Logba Logba”, current street anthem “Motigbana”, and “Kana” featuring Wizkid and more.

Olamide was plunged into spotlight with the release of his single “Eni Duro” in 2010, under Coded Tunes Record label which he was signed to then. Olamide went on to perform at The Hip Hop World Awards that same year.  However, in 2011, he released his debut studio album titled “Rapsodi”.

In 2012, Olamide left Coded Tunes and launched his label YBNL. Although he mostly raps in Yoruba, Olamide has over six successful albums to his name as well as notable collaborations with Wizkid, Phyno, Pheelz , Lil Kesh, Tiwa Savage, D’Banj,  Davido, Wale, Reminisce among others.
