Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has dropped a diss track aimed at fellow Ghanaian and African dancehall king Shatta Wale. Titled “My Advice,” the diss packs so many bombs and is just brutal. It may even pass for a curse.
But then Shatta Wale is not a recruit in the battlefield of disses but a brigadier – some would say a general. Other artistes had dissed him previously, including Kwaw Kese in “Chance.”
Sarkodie, a big shot at SarkCess Music, is one of Ghana’s most prominent rappers – like Shatta Wale himself. Saying Shatta Wale will soon be irrelevant in “My Advice” shows just how deeply nauseated he is by the “Ginger” mastermind.
A success as a collaborator and as a solo artiste, Sarkodie has been wooing music lovers across the continent with his good vibes since he marched into the music scene. Among his many songs are “Sista Gifty,” “Icon (Freestyle),” “Can’t Let you Go,” featuring King Promise, and several others.
“My Advice” may be considered Sarkodie’s “Killshot,” but it is doubtful it would kill Shatta Wale. Dude has long developed an iron skin that can withstand musical artillery shells. And, he just might erupt with a barrage himself – a repartee, a diss.
