Talented indigenous rapper Zoro Swagbag is closer to the throne of the King of the South more than ever as he comes through with a new single he titles “Halleluyah” on which he displayed unrivalled flow.
Produced by 5 Kelly, “Halleluyah” sees Zoro whose real name is Owoh Chimaobi Chrismathner acknowledging the place of God in his life and giving due praise.
And Zoro indeed has reasons to be grateful as he has been on an incredible roll lately with back to back hit songs to his credit such as his love song with X3M vocalist Simi which he titled “Stainless”, as well as his cover of Simi’s “I Dun Care”, “One on One” and, of course, “Upandan” with trending act Mr Real.
The “Mbada” rapper has also featured on a number of songs of which Airboy’s “Eze Ego” is one and very much still a fan-favourite. He, however, switches things up on this new release as he takes us to church for thanksgiving.
But, considering that Zoro narrowly escaped gunshot by SARS last month, this song is perhaps even deeper and more of an appreciation for life than it might appear. Either way, Zoro does what he does best, which is to bring out the best of Igbo language on record.
