The Mavin Records songstress may have been away for some time, but her return with “Save Me,” both song and music video, more than compensates for her long absence.
Motherhood had called and and Di’Ja had answered – a beautiful gift of a baby girl. Now it is time to resume the art that has made her a celebrated public figure.
“Save Me” interrogates some painful bends in life and living and the singer’s attempt to gain perspective, using Nigeria as a matrix. She serenades: “Are you really laughing at my sorrow?/ I’m broken down/ Can’t fix myself/ Oh, save me now/ What a world we live in/ Tell me, does it hurt to show a little kindness?”
Di’Ja’s past offerings include “The Way You are (Gbadun You),” featuring another Marvin Records songstress and “Lova Lova” hitmaker Tiwa Savage, and “Oh Radio.”
To listen to this song and watch the video is to gain insights into some of life’s absurdities and pains. Indeed you should not only listen to the song but watch the video as well. The video was directed by Unlimited L.A.
