Top South African rapper AKA is unrelenting in his race to the status of musical legend, with the recent release of the video “Fela in Versace,” one of the track from his album “Touch my Blood.”
“Fela in Vesace,” the song, is a monster hit, and the video of it promises to follow in that tradition, as it was exquisitely produced, thanks to the genius of director Nate Thomas.
Besides being a fine musician, AKA has also revealed his excellent business sense as he partnered with Cruz Infusions (Vodka) to produce Cruz Vodka AKA Watermelon, a new flavour bearing his name, which sold out in no time.
Now, the flavour is a permanent offering from the Cruz Vodka brand. However, it is no longer “limited edition” but “luxury edition,” which means that the Vodka would always be in stock in stores across town.
The music video, which has the Nigerian flag in the background, is AKA’s attempt to pay homage to the Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti. And he did a good job of it, thanks to the musical artistry of his collaborator, Kiddominant, another fine South African artiste himself, who is known for several bangers including “Alright,” featuring Nigeria’s Starboy Wizkid.
“Fela in Versace” is a much anticipated music video. It is here already, and AKA fans can sate their hunger with its excellent visuals. The song is worth listening. The video is worth watching.
