SOP Records frontman, Mo Eazy has dropped a new song that’s currently trending and he scored the feature of NSNS leader, CDQ who is one of the most respected rappers around on the song titled “Oyo”.
Produced by TopAge, “Oyo” is easily a collaboration to admire and is definitely a top one for Mo Eazy who is expected to kick on from here and drop more bangers.
Mo Eazy has in the past delivered top songs like “Aunty Yeh”, “Akagum”, “Take It Low”, “Industreet”, “Na We”, “Ragabomi”, “Kojabole”, “Luna” and a host of others.
Collaborator on the song, Sodiq Abubaker Yusuf aka CDQ is a Nigerian street-flavored rapper. The indigenous artiste, CDQ started his music career professionally in 2008 as a back-up singer for Da Grin.
He later started rapping in English language with M.I. In 2012, he contested and won a rap battle at the weekly Industry Nite and soon signed a record deal with Masterkraft General Records.
In 2014, he released his breakthrough single titled “Indomie” featuring Olamide. The remix of the song featured DMW boss, Davido.
The Masterkraft-produced song brought CDQ‘s career to limelight and earned him two nomination spots at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards and a nomination in the Best Street-Hop Artist category at The Headies 2015.
In anticipation of his debut studio album “Quality”, CDQ made notable collaborations with artistes like Wizkid on “Nowo E Soke”, as a lead single off the album. The music video for the song was directed by Unlimited L.A and went on to win the Best Afro Hip Hop Video category at the 2016 edition of the Nigeria Music Video Awards.
On 11 November 2016, he launched his own record label No Struggle No Success (N.S.N.S) Entertainment. On 1 Feb 2017, he dropped his first official single under the platform titled “Say Baba” which was produced by Jay Pizzle and has gone on to make several more collaborations.
This year he has released “Jabbing”, “Fine Boyz” and “Aiye”, a song he collaborated with Phyno and Reminisce on. Earlier in the month, he dropped “Soft” featuring Mr. Eazi on it and has since collaborated with 2T Boiz on “Gbomo Gbomo” and Cash Wale on the remix of “Handkerchief”.
On “Oyo”, Mo Eazy and CDQ, two artistes who understand the indigenous music scene very well combine to give us a song that will definitely find its way into many a playlist.
