The troika of Nifa Fanafoule, Drams, and Child Kirikou make up the rap group known as Kozak – formerly Seleka.
Seleka did some interesting videos including “Mon papa a ça,” and “Trembled de Joie.” As Kozak, it released “A Boire” to popular acceptance.
As a group, one should say they didn’t do badly, though without a doubt they are yet to obtain the ppeal and musical leverage of, say, an Alpha Blondy. But this is only a matter of time.
“Dosabado” seems a solo effort of one of the Kozak group maestro Nifa Fanfoule, but with the imprint of the group quite visible on the label.
In any case, Nifa Fanafoule did a fine job of it, harping his bars with ease, in the same sonorous voice for which he was known in the group.
One cannot say Nifa Fanafoule loses anything by going it alone here. Sometimes doing it solo seems more prudent. And the singer proves that much, without loss of rhythm or vocal delivery in this song.
“Dosabado” should unleash Nifa Fanafoule on a much larger stage with the right hype and promotion. It is a song of germane theme and uncluttered delivery.
