“Gbayi” crooner, CDQ is back in the studio with one of the best singers around, Mr Eazi and together, they are serving us something delicious titled “Soft” and you better believe we are joining them to take this softly as we nod along to this incredible new beat.
Sodiq Abubaker Yusuf aka CDQ is a Nigerian street-flavored rapper. The indigenous artiste, CDQ started his music career professionally in 2008 as a back-up singer for Da Grin.
He later started rapping in English language with M.I. In 2012, he contested and won a rap battle at the weekly Industry Nite and soon signed a record deal with Masterkraft General Records.
The Masterkraft-produced song brought CDQ‘s career to limelight and earned him two nomination spots at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards and a nomination in the Best Street-Hop Artist category at The Headies 2015.
In anticipation of his debut studio album “Quality”, CDQ made notable collaborations with artistes like Wizkid on “Nowo E Soke”, as a lead single off the album. The music video for the song was directed by Unlimited L.A and went on to win the Best Afro Hip Hop Video category at the 2016 edition of the Nigeria Music Video Awards.
On 11 November 2016, he launched his own record label No Struggle No Success (N.S.N.S) Entertainment. On 1 Feb 2017, he dropped his first official single under the platform titled “Say Baba” which was produced by Jay Pizzle and has gone on to make several more collaborations.
This year, he has been consistent with songs released like “Aye” a collab he did with Phyno and the ibile himself, Reminisce. “Jabbing” and “Fine Boyz” were dropped this year as well to make his year a busy, yet delightful one.
Collaborator on the track, Mr. Eazi has been busy this year as well with songs like “Overload”, “London Town”, and “Property” and he brings that winning streak into this collabo with CDQ to make the song worth the effort and of course make us recommend it to you fully for an amazing listening experience.
