Following the success of DuMi Hiphone, Tsonga rapper, Sho Madjozi returns with another potential club smash titled “Huku”.
If you can’t speak Swahili; then, get ready to learn Swahili because you’re about to experience quotable jewels in Sho Madjozi’s songs that takes us on a roller-coaster spin, and leaving us feeling heady. What we do remember though are the hooks.
“Huku”, the new single from our beautiful XiTsonga princess, got us literally repeating it as she’s saying it. It’s produced by a Port Elizabeth-based genius called Msiyana which could only mean that she turned on up a notch the winning formula she had with PS DJZ (Dumi Hi Phone, anyone?).
Actress and rapper Maya Wegerif, who is better known throughout South Africa as Sho Madjozi came into limelight for her role in drama series Isithembiso, and after she featured on Okmalumkoolkat tracks ‘Ngiyashisa Bhe’ and the hit single ‘Gqi’.
She is popularly known for rapping in her own style in her mother tongue of Xitsonga and her latest hit single is no exception. While our beloved XiTsonga princess went to college in Massachusetts, in the United States, she never forgot her roots as her music clearly reflects her African culture.
In this present age where many feel that the younger generations are loosing their culture, Sho Madjozi is here to help guide them and make them realize that they should be proud of their roots. She is proudly African and has travelled to many African countries and she can speak Swahili fluently.
Sho Madjozi’s latest offering is exclusively available on Apple Music and will be released on other digital platforms after 7 days. Plus, don’t forget to share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section.
