Riding hot on his sojourn into the music industry, musician and comedian Chief Obi is out with a fourth new single titled “Kweku”. The track is the first single off Chief Obi’s forthcoming EP scheduled to be released later this year. According to the musician, “Kweku” was inspired by the new dance movement running across Nigeria like wildfire –the Shaku Shaku dance and also fuses Ghana’s sub-genre hip hop Gqom to create a perfect finish.
The Ocean Worldwide Music act shot into fame following the success of his debut hit single ‘Carry Go” featuring Olamide. The song was well received and turned out to be a massive hit. On resting on his oars, the musician/comedian put back the spotlight on his face after releasing other hit singles like “Alhaji”, and “Type of Woman”.
From landing a major endorsement deal with Vomoz to featuring on records alongside music titans like Jidenna and street hop king, Olamide, and other front-runners, we can say the sky is just the starting point for the fast-rising artiste.
With the shaku shaku dance being the rave of the moment and the gqom music making fans go music-crazy, “Kweku” would surely leave fans wanting for more.
