Skepta has dropped a new single titled “Pure Water” and The UK rapper kept things on lock with his Vicious EP. Music fans will be pleased to finally get a new song from the rapper with his Vicious EP, which featured guest appearances from Lil B, Section Boyz, A$AP Rocky and A$AP Nast.
Prior, Skepta managed to beat out Radiohead and others for the prestigious Mercury Prize, which was awarded to his 2016 album Konnichiwa. He signed with All Around the World Productions in 2010, with which he gained commercial success.
Skepta has gone on to carry weight in North American markets, who may otherwise neglect overseas talent. Now, it would appear that Skepta will be returning to the fold, and has decided to come through with a new single.
Born Joseph Junior Adenuga, Skepta is a grime artist, rapper, songwriter, music video director, record producer, and MC known for his track “Rolex Sweep” and “Sunglasses at Night”.
He helped co-found Boy Better Know, a record label and crew. His influence on contemporary British popular culture as a key figure in the grime scene saw him appear on Debrett’s 2017 list of the most influential people in the UK
Having been quiet since the release of Konnichiwa in 2016, we can be hopeful that things will change as 2018 progresses. ‘Pure Water’ is a nice start.
