It’s barely a week into 2018 and, as anticipated, the ever dynamic Nigerian music scene is already heating up with truly spectacular releases from all corners, as every artiste who means business in the industry seems hell-bent on making more impact than ever this year.
Chocolate City Music recent signee and Choc Boi Nation’s creative director, Yung L, whose real name is Christopher Omenye, has joined in on the New Year action as he kicks off his 2018 with the release of two sizzling tracks to thrill his teeming fans.
One of the thrilling songs which the raving Nigerian music sensation has just recently dropped is a freestyle to Mr. Eazi’s popular tune, ‘Pour Me Water’. The G.R.I.P. Music pioneer titles his own version of the groovy vibe ‘Spray Me Dollars’, and we are absolutely in love with it.
The exceptional lyricist whose first ever record, a freestyle titled ‘Red Rose’, earned him a well-deserved Headies Rookie of the Year nomination in 2012, despite having no accompanying video at the time, does such sweet justice to Mr. Eazi’s groove with vocals that are every second as captivating as his lyrics, and we suspect more than a few people might actually prefer Mr. Marley’s take on ‘Pour Me Water’ to the original song.
If you already dig the original song by Mr. Eazi, then you definitely want to hear just what exactly this cover by Yung L is about. Listen to it right here and share your thoughts with us is the comments section below.
