The founder of the now globally famous Bongo Flava genre, Dully Sykes comes through with yet another potential chart-topper that he titles “Coconut.” You know you cannot expect anything less from Mr. Misifa.
Tilting towards the dancehall/reggae flavour, Dully Sykes whose real name is Abdul Sykes also connected a music video to match the heat and steam on this latest masterpiece.
He recruited the services of the steamy and sultry damsels who move and grind with the killer steps as he showed off the clout, stature and status that he is very well-deserving of.
Mr Chicks who is the son of ‘Manu Dibango-type musician,’ Ebby Sykes, does have music ingrained in his DNA, reason why he has been able to win several awards including the Tanzanian Music Awards on a few occasions.
With several records and albums to his name, Dully Sykes has also been criticised for his use of sexually-explicit content and leanings in his music; especially his hit song “Nyambiz.”
However, he did not shy away from that approach with the music video for “Coconut” as well and the buzzer isn’t even for the sensually-naive.
In the end, “Coconut” is an up-tempo tune that promises to light up the social circles and the industry, as well as re-solidify Dully Sykes’ authority as one of Tanzania and East Africa’s finest.
