Ghana‘s lyrical genius, Medikal is dropping lines so sick we may need medical attention in this his new song titled “Yaro” and we have been grooving to it all day.
Samuel Adu Frimpong who we all know and love as Medikal started the year off great with the release of “Boom” on the second day of the new year before going on to feature on Pappy KoJo‘s “Fuoco” alongside Cool Joe and dropping his another song, “For You” alongside Bisa Kdei later in the month.
He has since gone on to release “Adwee Ba”, “Talk To Am” on which he featured Patapaa, “Don’t Do Drugs”, and “Yesu” on which he featured Phil Black.
Collaborator on the song, the controversial but super talented Shatta Wale formerly known as Bandana, first made headlines in 2004 with his hit song “Moko Hoo,” featuring fellow rapper Tinny, for which he was nominated for the Ghana music awards.
His song “Dancehall King” was incredibly popular and earned him the Ghana Music Award in the Reggae/ Dancehall Song of the Year category in 2014.
The same year, he also won the Nigerian Entertainment Awards in the African Artiste of the Year and Best Performer of the Year categories.
Shatta Wale has earned his place as one of the industry’s best and of course, marketable acts with hit songs like: “No Problem,” “Oba Yono,” “Wine Ya Waist,” (featuring Nigeria’s Davido) “Dancehall Commando,”etc.
With over two hundred songs to his name, Shatta Wale, who started his music career while still in secondary school has earned the high pedestal we all place him and he is nowhere near tired as seen with his feature and classy delivery on “Yaro”.
