Nigerian superstar, E-Ray is back on the grind with RapLyf artiste, Kwesta on recently released track, “Loco” and it’s a crowd pleaser!
Senzo Mfundo Vilakazi, popularly known as Kwesta is a South African rapper and songwriter. He started his journey to fame in 2003, as Quest, forming a musical group called Ghetto Fellaz, which became known as The Juvenylz later.
The band disbanded after their goal to be signed failed and Kwesta dropped out of high school at 16, to pursue his music career full-time. He recorded his first demo in his home studio, catching the attention of Africa’s Most Southern record company (AMS).
Kwesta soon met with Buttabing Entertainment‘s offices and this resulted in his being added to Buttabing Entertainment‘s rooster, co-owned by founding members Shugasmakx and Slikour.
In early 2010, Kwesta was selected to become a brand SA ambassador, performing as the headline act at the nationwide roadshow tour in the run-up to the FIFA World Cup.
He released his first album, “Special Rekwest” in September 2010, topping the charts with hit singles like “Stomp”, “Flava”, “Pump it” and “Babhemi”. In November, 2013, his second studio album “DaKAR” (Da King of Afrikan Rap), peaked on the South African iTunes Hip-hop / Rap Chart at number 3.
Award-winning South African hip-hop artiste, Kwesta made history by becoming South African hip-hop’s all-time best-selling artist for his third album “DaKAR II”. This was announced officially by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RISA) stating that the album is seven times platinum – which is a first for the local hip-hop industry.
The proud father and husband, Kwesta is well known for numerous songs like “Nomayini”, “Ngud” featuring Cassper Nyovest, “Spirit” ft Wale and “Pray Hard” ft Reason. He has also made notable collaborations with artistes like AKA, Maraza, Zakwe, Zonke, Yanga, L-tido, Major League Djz, Ricky Rick and lots more.
MMMY superstar, E-Ray is a rising Nigerian artiste making waves across the Nigerian music industry. He is popularly known for “I’m in love”. The young talent is working hard to carve his niche across Africa and this collabo with Kwesta is a step in the right direction.
