Safi Madiba – Kimwe Kimwe

Safi Madiba – Kimwe Kimwe

With their massive fan base, the widely-acclaimed R&B and Afropop group, Urban Boyz – initially a trio made up of James ‘Humble Jizzo’ Manzi, Muhammed ‘Nizzo’ Nshimiyimana and Safi ‘Madiba’ Niyibikora – could very easily be dubbed Rwanda’s frontline music group without being mistaken.

Since the release of their 2008 debut album “Icyicaro Today,” the boys have churned out well over 70 singles and 3 studio albums written in English, Kiswahili and Kinyarwanda. Impressive, yeah?

The group’s front man, Safi Madiba, however decide to split from the spectacularly successful group, which won four Salax Awards for Artiste of the Year, Best Male Artiste, Best Group and Best Video in 2013, in order to pursue a solo career.

As expected, die-hard fans of the group were obviously saddened by the singer’s decision, but he seemed to convince them he knew exactly what he was doing with the announcement and release of his rather well-received debut solo single, “Got It,” which featured “Slowly” crooner, Meddy.

As if to further underscore his potential as a top-notch solo artiste, Safi Madiba rounded up 2017 and ushered in the New Year with a sophomore effort he titles “Kimwe Kimwe.”

This track, which we honestly can’t get enough of, was produced by the talented Junior Multisystem, and is the quintessential scorcher. You won’t be able to resist the urge to groove along to Madiba’s flows as he does justice to the addictive beat.

It would be recalled that Safi Madiba, whose prospects for a massively successful solo career never looked brighter, recently exchanged vows with his girlfriend, Judith Niyonizera, in a star-studded civil ceremony in Remera, before a traditional giveaway ceremony took place in Rebero, Kicukiro District.
