You may be forgiven if you think Busiswa has become a kind of “collaborator-in-chief.” The South African songstress has done a lot of collaborations already and a few may have forgotten she is a fine singer, solo.
Well, Busiswa is going to wake everyone to her presence and powers as a solo artiste once again with the release of her album titled “Summer Life.”
With appearances in the works of some of the finest singers in South Africa, Busiswa has made a name for herself as one muso whose voice counts, whose voice the people love to hear and hear again.
Her features history shows that she has done a lot with fellow South African DJ Maphorisa. She was one of the features on DJ Maphorisa’s and Ed Harris’s “Gagashe II.” She had also done “Asambeni” with the DJ.
“Summer Life” is a 10-track affair featuring some important voices in South African music, including Dladla Mshunqisi, Cruel Boyz, KayGee The Vibe, Da Fresh, Athi, LaSoulMates, Zingah, Uhuru, RudeBoyz, DJ Buckz and Gorna.
The album has got the eponymous track “Summer Life,” which is one of my favorites. Other tracks are “Chesa Mpama,” “uWrongo,” “Shikisha,” “Nyan Nyan,” “iSdudla,” “Jam,” “Goduka,” “Wey DJ” and “Ndiyi Lantombi (Outro).”
You are in for a great listening experience with “Summer Life.” Locate somewhere quiet and have a jam.
