Mystro – Sugar

Multi-talented Nigerian recording artiste, songwriter and music producer, Mystro, has just unleashed his highly anticipated debut career album “Sugar” and it is multiple shades of awesome.

Released under Bankulli Entertainment, the impressive 10-track body of work features industry favourites in the persons of Maleek Berry, Ycee, Simi, Nonso Amadi, Eugy Official and Tomi Agape.

Fully produced by Mystro himself, “Sugar” is no doubt a masterpiece. The album’s drop was preceded by the release of “Atarodo”, a groovy single which was released off the album in December of last year.

On “Sugar”, the multi-talented Mystro experiments with a myriad of sounds ranging seamlessly from the soft and soulful to the groovy and intense.

Mystro, who first got noticed on the Nigerian music scene when he released “Ojoro” in 2012, cites the dominant Afrobeats movement in the UK as a major inspiration for “Sugar”.

The groovy “Atarodo” with its bubbly, bouncy vibe gave us all an idea of where Mystro was headed with his music, especially with “Sugar”.

“Bad” which features fellow music producer cum recording artiste, Maleek Berry, is the quintessential party starter. The energy on the track is undeniable, and it’ll definitely rock our favourite party playlists for quite some time.

The groovy, mid-tempo love jam, “Juice Box” is exactly the sort of joint you expect to hear when Mystro features the brilliant Nonso Amadi. Of course, the vocal delivery from the pair is simply exceptional.

On “Ife” the Afro-fusion track on which Mystro collaborates with Simi, the depth of emotion can easily be felt through the remarkable songwriting and vocal delivery on the song.

All in all, for a first project of its kind from Mystro, “Sugar” is a masterpiece. Check out the impressive tracklist for the body of work below, and get listening to “Sugar” right away.
